The systems we rely on — for logistics, manufacturing, defence, infrastructure — were not built for this era of volatility. And they certainly weren’t built for net-zero.

But the future isn’t waiting.

The Real Challenge of the Energy Transition

This isn’t about switching fuels. It’s about rethinking the fundamentals of how and where energy is produced.

Today’s model is centralised, fragile, and expensive. Wind and solar are part of the solution, but they depend on storage, infrastructure, and geography. Batteries are limited in scale, lifespan, and energy density.

And hydrogen? Hydrogen should be the answer — but it’s not, yet.


Hydrogen: The Right Answer, If Done Right

Hydrogen is the most abundant element in the universe — and one of the cleanest fuels ever discovered. But in practice, it’s been held back by three problems:

  • Safety: Compressed and cryogenic hydrogen presents serious risks.
  • Cost: Electrolysis remains energy-intensive and capital-heavy.
  • Logistics: Distribution requires infrastructure that doesn’t exist.

At iQ3, we believe these problems aren’t technically inevitable — they’re engineering challenges.

The breakthrough? Safe, solid-state hydrogen systems that generate fuel on demand, from abundant metal feedstocks.
